Ace of Hands – Curiosity
(Entry Cards)

Cognition starts at the encounter with things – with what beckons us and demands our attention. An encounter with the strange, the mysterious, enticing, and seductive. An erotic encounter with what shows and hides itself intermittently. An encounter that triggers the basic and primal instinct of all organic cognition: Curiosity.

Curiosity is a moment of being on the threshold. Between shock and wonder, attraction and repulsion. The threshold of a story about the world and about life. A story where the knower is entangled with the known, the one who exposes is entwined with what is exposed. In that sense, the act of knowing is forever personal, and never nondescript. Curiosity is nothing but the demand to experience knowledge in person.

Curiosity is a basic instinct that allows us to grow. To exceed ourselves, expand the boundaries of our world. Helplessness and hesitation caution alongside boldness, in the face of desire and impulse, and above all patience, persistence, and willingness to commit.

All knowledge is a creative action.
