Knight of Eyes – Private Detective
(Cards of Struggle)

A world of intrigues and conspiracies, of politics and money, of foreign and hidden interests and motives that trigger relentless worries, fears, skepticism, and suspicion. In an age of cynicism, action begins with the “impure” man. Exposing the truth often turns into exposing the dirt, sifting through the mud, wading in power relations.

The need for knowledge turns into lust organized around a “piece of information.” The realm of possibilityis perceived through the lens of opportunism, and becomes a conspiracy.

The starting point: Anything can be something other than it is; more or less, insignificant or important. Anything hides and reveals by its very presence. Everything has a reason; every action has a motive; every person has a weak spot; every action leaves a trace. We follow the clue and the enigma, the partial: From the secret to the fact. To what must be completed, linked to another fact, integrated into a new story. To the no-man’s-land of law and morality, where the imaginary and real are shaped into reality.

The detective sticks to the facts. To what has to be completed, put into context. It is a game of sorts, a challenge, where things serve as the raw material for organization that will reveal the logic of things, from their conduct and behavior in the world. Beyond truth and lies, good and evil, reality is a web of facts organized through stories. And the detective knows that a story based on facts is a true story. A story that works. For although a fact has no meaning – except through the story in which it is incorporated – it has its own logic.

The mind is cunning yet the body does not lie.
