Prince of Consciousness – Submission
(Cards of Youth)
The time to submit is always now, and the space of submission is always emotional. Submission turns the inevitable encounter with reality into an experience. Submission requires letting go, agreeing to be subject to the circumstances of fate, to the arbitrariness and uncertainty of life. To be, experience, and act beyond context, in an encounter with something new, different, unfamiliar. In an encounter with the different and strange.
It suggests transcending and expanding who we are (who we think we are): To be completely beyond yourself. To be fully present in what you are doing. Submission is movement towards the unknown, while suspending judgment and taking down walls. A leap of faith from a willingness to be and take part anyway, in spite of the unease, apprehension, and awkwardness. Place oneself beyond good and evil, beyond error or failure. Be brave. Embrace the insight that you can expand your consciousness, experience differently, know more.
Follow the temptation and stimulation life offers and let it lead and accompany you – sometimes brusquely, with a shove, sometimes peacefully, with a subtle nod – into unknown life paths. To act as if from the commitment to not allow the potential of existence remain as an unturned stone. Seeing the encounter with the world as necessary.
Submission is joining in.
