Life takes shape within a world picture. Finality becomes a framework – surroundings, context – within which links with other systems are formed and ways of life are weaved. World-picture is simply living in relation to something. A place where the ever-expanding energy of life wishes to encounter something – validates its existence. Every living organism has a world-picture. A common one.

The world-picture emerges through contact and encounter, which it imagines as knowledge. The world- picture exposes the fact that any relation is a form of knowledge (and all knowledge is partial and limited) by establishing the Imaginary as Real.

Encountering the external summons and enables the externalization of the living organism’s “inner” world. The expression of the imagined superfluousness of life. An opportunity to formulate archetypes, symbols, and values. World-picture is the frame within which life is carried out based on interests and power relations. It places things based on fears and hope. Organizes our conduct – shaping habits and preferences. Always already imbued with history, geography, education, memories, and consequences. Shaped by and answers to political logic; shaped by and answers to questions: What is included in the picture? Where is it located within it?

And while you probably cannot choose a world-picture more than you can choose a family, you can reencounter the world, touch it, and create your own picture of the world.
