Ten of Feathers –
Eternal Return
(Cards of Purpose)
Existence is an endless cycle of creation and destruction; of resurrection and deterioration. Of endless and cyclical flow. “The circle of life”: day follows day, seasons turn, sleep becomes wakefulness which turns back into sleep; history repeats itself. Existence is always a mode of repetition, a way of expression: lifestyle, behavior patterns, habits.
Existence is nothing but the return of the difference.
The perspective of the eternal return – the cyclicality of existence – offers a way out of the evolving and progressing linear perception of time. Allows to examine the patterns of behavior and habits forged over the years, without anxiety, as if objectively, beyond the fears and worries of the limited everyday life.
Since there is nothing to bestow permanent and absolute value to the moments of existence, the way to produce meaning is to consider each moment/action as if you were doomed to relive it over and over again. Like in a ritual. Internalize the perpetuity of the present moment.
Everything is determined yet freedom of choice is granted.
