Knight of Consciousness – Digestion
(Cards of Struggle)
Digestion is the process of regulating the relationship between inside and outside. A process of dealing with fear and dread of penetration, emission, and transformation. Of dealing with doubts, exaggerations, and denials. Dealing with ourselves, with our fears, desires, and passions.
Every stage of development and growth involves digestion. Digestion opens up a space of time within which, through visible and mostly invisible processes, things are broken down, absorbed, utilized, recreated, and emitted. A process of distillation, filtering, amalgamation, maturation. A process of conversion and creation. Where matter becomes energy and energy becomes matter; supplement becomes residue and residue becomes supplement; a process where the external becomes internal and the internal becomes external.
Digestion takes place beyond fear and within dread. In the willingness to allow things inside you, time and space to be absorbed and generate change, in the willingness to let things come out, and to face the outcomes. In the willingness to give time and acknowledge rest as necessary for the act of struggle. In this sense, digestion is the counterpart of the space of dreaming.
You can run but you cannot hide.
