Two of Consciousness – Anger
(The “I”/Ego Cards)
Anger is an expression of unyielding faith. Uncompromising and impossible. Helplessness that meets an imagined potential. An obstacle and a challenge – a call to act from bewilderment, urgency, and decisiveness. An unmediated encounter between the Imaginary and the Real.
Anger makes palpable the gap between us and the world/other – between the desired and the existing. It is a basic and primal manifestation of sensitivity to the measure of justice and the compatibility between the two. An expression of care, interest, attention, and concern. Even if in a childish, disproportionate, dumb, and offensive way. Anger releases tensions. At the expense of others. As if there is no other choice.
Anger is as conservative as it is avant-garde, private and ancient energy. Energy trapped in the body. Energy that has to find expression, find release, come out, unleash, burst, smash, break, hurt. And start over. Different. Better. Anger reveals the (unfortunate) fact that one must be handed the truth (at least) twice.
Anger is standing within the rupture. An opportunity to be the hero who follows his desires.
