Complexity and sharing lie at the core of the experience of beauty. Beauty describes a state in which the free play of all our perceptive faculties takes place in motion and in concert (harmony). Meaning, beauty is a judgment of the feeling of sensual pleasure (of complexity).

Experience and pleasure are individual and personal matters. They are shaped and determined by “external” forces and conditions. Some are necessary (like our range of sensitivity) while others are cultural and ideological. Beauty indicates an (internal) process and discourse in which we try to free ourselves from the grip of the ego, free ourselves from the external forces that curb experience and consciousness, to reveal (once more) the measure of humanity at the core of who we are as individuals. To be/become “extended-subject.” Take part in the human race.

Beauty requires spare time – freeing time and space for the consciousness to expand beyond the personal and settle at the heart of the experience as a human being.
